Travel & Venue Information
The conference will be held at Kongresshaus Zurich, Claridenstrasse 5, 8002 Zurich, Switzerland. The venue lies in the center of Zurich, a 20-minute walk through the old town of Zurich, or a 10-minute tram ride away from Zurich's main station (called "HB" by the locals). Zurich is easily reachable by train from many European destinations, including direct high-speed connections and night trains -- please consider traveling environmentally-friendly! If you need to come by airplane, there are direct and frequent train connections between Zurich airport (ZRH) and the main station, taking about 10 minutes. ZRH is a central hub in Europe and is also well-connected to overseas destinations.
Please book accommodations early, since hotels might be busy around the time of the conference.
The conference venue
Kongresshaus Zurich is located at lake Zurich, only a few minutes from the old town of Zurich. The same building hosts also Tonhalle Zurich, the concert hall of Zurich. There are countless restaurants and cafés in the area. Try walking along the river Limmat, through the old town, or along the lake. If you want to fit in with the locals, order "Kafi & Gipfeli" for breakfast, and visit one of the beloved Badis on the lake or along the river.
Affiliated events
The affiliated events will take place at ETH Zurich; see the affiliated events page for further details how to get there.

Public transport
The best way to get around in Zurich is public transport. There are buses, city trams, trains, ships, and even cable cars. Between Zurich main station ("Zurich HB") and ZRH airport, there are frequent direct trains (S2, S16, IR13, IR36, IR75, IC1, IC5, IC8, IC81) taking ~10 minutes. You can check connections at sbb.ch or in the SBB app. Tickets are 7.00 CHF and can be purchased at a ticket machine.
Within Zurich, tram lines 6, 7, 11, 13, and 17 directly connect Zurich HB with Kongresshaus (stop "Bürkliplatz" for tram 11, stop "Stockerstrasse" for tram 6, 7, 13, 17).
Tram lines 6 and 9 directly connect the affiliated events venue at ETH Zurich (stop "ETH/Universitätsspital") with Kongresshaus (stop "Stockerstrasse" for tram 6, stop "Bürkliplatz" for tram 9): take tram 6 towards "Bahnhof Enge" or tram 9 towards "Heuried/Triemli".
A single ride on these short distances ("Kurzstrecke") costs 2.80 CHF. A single ride within Zurich (zone 110) costs 4.60 CHF (valid for 1 hour upon purchase), and a 24h ticket is 9.20 CHF. Ticket vending machines can be found at almost every tram stop. Multi-ride tickets are also available, those need to be punched at a vending machine to validate them.
