IACR is soliciting for affiliated events to be held in
conjunction with Eurocrypt 2026 on
Saturday 9 May and Sunday 10 May in Rome.
Each such event is expected to provide a forum discussing a
specific topic of the broad cryptographic world (theory, practice,
implementation, standardizations, etc.). The format of the event
(e.g., workshop, tutorial, etc.) is up to the organizers.
Call for affiliated events
Organizing an affiliated event should be relatively simple. All registration and local organization is
handled by the IACR (through the general and workshop chairs). Proposers need to identify a
topic, decide on the format and, if accepted, coordinate the programme/speakers according to the
general schedule guidelines provided by the local organizers.
Important Dates
4 Sep 2025
First submission deadline for affiliated events proposals at 11:59 p.m. anywhere on earth (AoE)
20 Sep 2025
Notification of decision for the first call
6 Dec 2025
Second submission deadline for affiliated events proposals at 11:59 p.m. anywhere on earth (AoE)
20 Dec 2025
Notification of decision for the second call
Information to submitters
For each event, the local organizers will provide:
The registration fee for attendees of affiliated events will be charged via the registration process
and will cover the incurred costs for the location, catering and equipment. Being registered for a
given day of workshops enables a participant to attend this workshop, and, if space allows it, any
other workshop of that particular day.
Any additional costs (e.g., programme costs, reimbursement of invited speakers or printing of
proceedings) are the responsibility of the individual workshop organizers.
The organizers of accepted events are expected to maintain an updated website (which will be
linked from the Eurocrypt 2026 website) containing all relevant information for participants. In
addition, while the local organization will provide all technical equipment (laptops, projector, etc.)
and basic technical support, workshop organizers will be responsible for all in room arrangements
(e.g., collecting and projecting slides).
Submission format for affiliated event proposals
Proposals for affiliated events should be submitted by sending a PDF document to
eurocrypt2026workshops at iacr.org by 4 September 2025, including the
following information in this order:
Name (and possible acronym) of the event
Names and contact information of the organizers. Include the names of at least two contact
people that will be present during the workshop.
Length of event (1-2 days). If 1 day, indicate flexibility for
dates.
A proposed format (workshop with submitted/invited talks, tutorial,
panel, etc.) and potential speakers (if applicable, not complete,
and no commitment). Please specify if you have any other requests.
Abstract summarizing the proposed event and its justification
In the case of events involving a submission process:
Potential committee members
A draft of the relevant call including expected dates such as
submission deadline, notification, etc.
Estimated number of attendees total and an expected number of
student attendees
A one-paragraph biographical sketch for each organizer, describing
relevant qualifications, including research and conference/workshop
organizing experience
Funding sources that may be used and for what purposes. Please note that no
commercial advertisement, banners, merchandise, etc. are allowed.
Information about previous similar events, including organizational
information such as attendance numbers (if applicable)
Link to draft website (if exists)
Proposal Evaluation Criteria
Given the limited amount of conference rooms available, events
will be selected based on their novelty, importance, and
interest that they may have in the cryptographic
community. The agreement of leading members of the
cryptographic community to engage with the event (as
speakers or committee members) will be taken into account.
