Eurocrypt 2022 is a hybrid event and
will take place in
Trondheim, Norway on May 30 to June 3, 2022.
Eurocrypt 2022 is organized by
the International Association for
Cryptologic Research (IACR).
Note that the Eurocrypt 2022 timetable runs one day later
than the traditional Eurocrypt timetable with the first event being
the reception on the evening of Monday May 30 and technical talks starting on
Tuesday May 31 and ending on Friday June 3. Affiliated events take place on
Sunday May 29 and Monday May 30.
Corona virus measures at Eurocrypt 2022
For many months there have been no COVID restrictions in Norway. There are no masking requirements
or recommendations and no checking of vaccination status. Most people do not wear masks,
regardless of crowding or other conditions.
The former Covid tracing app in Norway carries
advice that it can be switched off.
The main advice from the Norwegian government is to stay at home if you feel unwell and avoid
contact with people at risk of a severe COVID-19 disease case if you have newly arisen respiratory
tract symptoms.
We ask you to follow this advice and not to attend the conference venue if you feel unwell,
have any COVID-19 symptoms, or have recently tested positive for COVID.
Despite the more relaxed situation in Norway, we have attendees at Eurocrypt 2022 from
countries worldwide, many with different COVID regulations and situations. It is important
that all attendees feel comfortable and therefore we ask everyone to respect individual
choices regarding masking and to be mindful that many attendees may prefer to maintain social
distance.
We will have a limited supply of free masks at the reception desk, but if you choose to wear
a mask we recommend to bring well fitting masks yourself.
If you test positive to COVID during or soon after attending Eurocrypt, we would appreciate
knowing about it so we can inform the other attendees (of course without disclosing your name).
Testing
Antigen self-tests are available in Norwegian pharmacies and some supermarkets for around 35-50 NOK.
If you need a test in order to return home, there are certified tests
available at Trondheim airport.
At present it it seems easy to book a test at most times of the day even one or two days in
advance. Airport testing starts at 04:10 each day.
