Travel Information

The conference will be held in Dan Panorama, Tel Aviv, which is about 20 kilometers from the Tel Aviv (TLV) airport (called Ben Gurion airport). Tel Aviv airport is well connected to Europe, and has direct flights to several cities in North America and East Asia. Other international airports are the Eilat airport (with many seasonal flights from Europe) and the Haifa airport (with scheduled service to Cyprus/Greece).

Getting to the Venue

Travelers who wish to get from the Tel Aviv airport to the conference hotel may choose to rent a car (all major agencies are available at Tel Aviv airport), or take the train, going from the airport train station (Ben Gurion station) to Tel Aviv-Savidor center, from where busses 10 and 18 are available. Train schedule is available here, and the bus schedule is available here. We recommend to use the Moovit app for more updated information.

If you wish to skip a bus service, we recommend to take the train to Tel Aviv Hahagana or Tel Aviv Hashalom train stations. During night service times, the train stops at Tel Aviv Merkaz (which has its own taxi station). From these train stations, one can take a taxi. As usual, all taxis must operate meters and there is a limited list of additional surcharges that can apply (each bag/suitcase besides the first, more than 2 passengers, etc.) though some drivers may suggest a fixed price. While this is left to your consideration, we advise to ask for a meter (and of course, a receipt at the end of the trip). Taxi drivers may not add passengers without your explicit consent. Do note that not all taxis accept credit cards, but you can use applications such as Gett (formally known as GetTaxi) for ordering taxis as well as paying by credit cards. All taxis are clearly marked with yellow caps and are safe.

If you take a taxi from the airport to anywhere in Tel Aviv, you can either ask for a meter or for a fixed price. One can either order a taxi using an application, or go out in the ground floor, gate 03, to the "regular" taxi line. You can also find your way to the exit from the second floor, where the taxis are obliged to offer 12% discount on the official price. We advise to use the IAA official taxi fare calculator at http://www.iaa.gov.il/en-US/airports/bengurion/Pages/TaxiFareCalculator.aspx. Do note that these fares are final and cover all the surcharges.

Parking

Private parking is available next to the venue (including municipal parking lots with a discount for Tel Aviv residents). Do note that in general cars are far from being the optimal transportation method inside Tel Aviv (but may be useful during the weekend/for traveling between cities).
